Engineering Clothing Sale

This Friday November 20th, the CSCE and the ESS will be in the Agora from 10am until 3:30 pm for you to purchase this year’s clothing selection. Orders can be made from Friday to Wednesday next week. Deadline for orders is Wednesday November 25th. You must pay for your purchases in advance and with CASH ONLY.
The CSCE will have photos of their merchandise along with prices on their website shortly. You can navigate to the CSCE website by following the link below.(The website is still under construction)

All engineering students are invited to attend the ENGINEERING IN ACTION 2009 BRIDGE TOUR%85.join us for a guided tour and learn about bridges from an engineering expert, Larry Betuzzi, P. Eng., Project Manager/Structural Engineer, Cook Engineering
OPEN TO ALL LAKEHEAD ENGINEERING STUDENTS
NO COST.however contributions of $2 will be accepted for donation to the LUSU FOOD BANK
THE EVENT BEGINS IN AT 1001 AT 1:00 PM WITH A BRIEF INTRODUCTION FOLLOWED BY THE TOUR.

Vice President Communications-Canadian Federation of Engineering Students Position Available

The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES) is currently recruiting for the position of Vice President Communication for the 2009-2010 year.
CFES is the highest level of Engineering student government, encompassing all Engineering schools nationally, representing all Engineering students in Canada both domestically and internationally.
“The Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES) is a national, bilingual organization that represents approximately 60,000 engineering students across Canada. Offering services ranging from leadership development conferences, to technical skill competitions, a national student magazine and other outreach efforts, the CFES aims to provide opportunities in support of an all-encompassing education for engineering students in Canada to become unparalleled professionals in their field.”
The VP Communication position is part of the National Executive team, which oversee all nationally coordinated operations of the federation.
Role: Duties of the position include overseeing all national communication activities, including maintaining a channel of dialogue between the National Ambassadors (Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario and Western). The position also oversees three elected Commissioners (International Relations, Official Languages, Information Technology) in able to assist and guide them in their activities through-out the year.
Requirements: Extensive training in a leadership position, with strong emphasis on teamwork and ownership of responsibility. Sound knowledge of website design is necessary. Bilingualism (French, English) is a key asset.
Application Requirements: Motivation Letter, Resume (outlining experiences related to the position), and brief answers to the following questions:
1) Please outline all previous experience working with any projects, portfolios or groups affiliated with the CFES.
2) Have you attended, or will be attending any CFES sponsored activities? (Congress, Complimentary Education Courses, Canadian Engineering Leadership Forum, Canadian Engineering Competitions, Project Magazine)
3) Please describe any experiences/skills/assets that you feel qualify you for this position.
